❖ Shaping Infill: Design and Zoning of Edmonton’s Middle Housing
As Edmonton updates its zoning bylaw and is faced with a new municipal government coming out of the election, questions around infill and “missing middle” housing are more timely than ever. This panel brings together City planners and local designers to discuss how recent and proposed zoning amendments shape opportunities for gentle density, affordability, and neighbourhood renewal. Panelists will explore the intersection of design, regulation, and public priorities, and how upcoming policy decisions could influence the city’s housing landscape for years to come. Speakers from local Architects/Designers and the City of Edmonton.
❖ Infrastructure Insights: Site Servicing w/ Atco & Epcor
Infill housing depends on more than good design, it relies on the systems that serve it. This panel brings together experts from Epcor and Atco to discuss how Edmonton’s utilities, energy, and water infrastructure can support denser, more diverse neighbourhoods. Panelists will explore the challenges and opportunities of upgrading aging systems, coordinating servicing for infill projects, and planning resilient infrastructure for a growing city. Speakers from Atco, Epcor Power and Water and the City of Edmonton.
